Chapter Philanthropy and Service

Websters dictionary defines philanthropy as goodwill towards the human race; the active effort to promote human welfare. Furthermore, they define it as time and money spent for others “to help make their lives better.”

Zeta Tau Alpha defines philanthropy as “to be true to ourselves, and to those within and without our circle” as well as “to think in terms of all mankind and our service in the world.”

We strive to put others needs before our own and to not only to be sisters inside our sorority but also sisters to our community. As Zetas, we reach out and stand beside those in great need, in great strife, in the rocky areas of life. We give strength, support, and, above all, love. My name is Tess and I am the Director of Philanthropy as well as the Think Pink chair and, together with my Lambda Mu sisters, we strive for greatness in the LowCountry community. As a chapter only beginning, I have begun the process of planning and putting into place events to bring more knowledge and awareness into the community for our cause. What is our cause you may ask?

Zeta Tau Alpha has partnered with Bright Pink in efforts to bring awareness through workshops towards breast cancer as well as ovarian cancer, with the American Cancer Society and their Making Strides walks every October, with Self Magazine to bring empower each Zeta and to promote breast cancer exams, and, last but not least, we are proud to partner with the NFL as the only sorority affiliation. Each and every partnership provides opportunities and growth as well as fun activities.

Lambda Mu and Zeta’s everywhere look forward to Think Pink with you as well as serving our communities to build stronger relationships!
